Lookwide New Signage
11/08/2021 By David Hefferin

2 new signs in the Centre main hall now confirm the Link from our Centre name, to the Worlds first official Scout Camp which took place at the Carr Edge Plantation near Fourstones in our District. We chose the name of our Centre "Lookwide" to reflect the Lookwide Camp which is what the camp held in 1908 came to be called. The Camp was led by Lord Baden Powell himself. The first sign bears the name of our centre & the design of the original Tynedale District badge. Suitably located on the other side of the loft door from the Group badge . The second sign quotes Lord Baden Powell's famous Look wide speech in 1908.
