Hexham is a beautiful market town, nestling in the Tyne Valley. Once named Englands best market town, it has a wealth of treasures,

& is located just a few miles from the world heritage site of Hadrians wall. The towns stunning backdrop is the medieval abbey, dating back to 674AD.

Characterised by its stone architecture, cobbled streets and historic buildings, Hexham has plenty to offer visitors, including a leisure centre

swimming pool, Cinema, its own racecourse, two golf courses & a wealth of restaurants & shops.

The town is well positioned, just 20 miles West of Newcastle Upon Tyne & has good rail & bus connections.

Our Scout centre offers a fantastic base to explore not only Hexham, but the beautiful Tyne Valley.

Why not bring your cubs or Scouts for a Roman themed weekend ? The mighty Hadrians wall is on our doorstep

& was the final outpost of the mighty Roman Empire. A visit to the city of Newcastle, or the mighty castles along the Northumberland coast

 all are possible from Hexham.

The towns new bus station is located within a 1 minute walk of the Scout centre.

Very handy for Groups wishing to use public transport during their stay. Marks & Spencers is next door to the centre

so getting more supplies is quick & easy. The swimming pool & Leisure centre are also close by, just a two minute walk from the Centre.

The Leisure centre also boasts a Ten pin bowling alley which is a great activity for the evening.

A short walk will take you to Tyne Green country park on the banks of the Tyne, where during the season you can watch the salmon jump.
