Online Scout Manager has revolutionised the way our Scout Troop contacts parents about events & activities that your child can take part in. This online application is part of Online Scout Manager, which we use to record your child's progress in scouts. This makes our admin much easier & gives you the parent, an easy way to pay for camps and activities. You can also check on their badge progress & update any personal information including medical details that the leaders hold. The system is quick, easy & secure.

Some badges requirements can be completed at home & you can submit evidence to the leaders for signing off.

Parents do not need to remember user names or passwords - communication from the leaders will involve secure e mail links which you respond to. it normally takes just one click to take you through to the relevant page. Parents can use this method to respond to leaders e mails, but we would reccommend you set up a username & password so you can access the Parents portal for your child whenever you like.
So here is how it works

When you child joins Scouts you will be asked to complete our OSM Information form

This enables us to set up your child details on Online Scout Manager

You will then receive an e mail inviting you to the Parents portal.

You have the option of setting up an account (Username & Password) no cost is involved

Setting up an account means you can access the Parent Portal for your child at any time.

E mails from the leaders via OSM will advise you of an event or activity that your child may be interested in.

You can then respond via the Parents portal by stating Yes or no or respond to any other action required.

Details of the activity along with the cost will be displayed

When you click yes if there is a cost involved you will have the option to pay online

You can set up a direct debit subscription or just pay for each activity individually.

If you do set up a subscription payments will be taken automatically via direct debit for every activity that you have signed your child up for. You can cancel this subscription at any time & you will be notified before a payment is due to be made.

If you prefer just to pay for the activity manually by sending cash or a cheque to scouts that is fine.

Some small cost activities we will not offer an online payment option.

The system is safe & secure & protected by the direct debit guarantee
Other features of the Parents Portal
If you wish to change some personal details for your child, log on to the Portal and click on the personal details link. At this point for security you will be asked for your childs date of birth. Once you have updated the information the leaders will be automatically advised of the changes you have made.
Troop Programme - Want to know whats happening at Scouts next week & if your child needs to bring anything ? just click on programme & the relevant info will be there for you. Alternatively the programme is displayed in the scout section on our website.
Costs
Online scout manager / Go Cardless charge a transaction charge amounting to 2.95%. this payment is taken off your payment to us. At times we will absorb this cost meaning you will not pay anymore by paying on line, however there are times when we cannot absorb the cost and have to pass this on to you which will be reflected in the amount we have asked you to pay.
